We might be moving to Glendale AZ for med-school. Where is a good area to live?
My husband and I are going to look for housing in a few weeks and I was hoping someone could give me some direction. We are a young couple (25) and have a 2 year old son. We are from Utah so we are looking forward to get out of the cold but I was scared when I saw the dirt-yards online. We would love to have our own house, it would be our first but maybe a condo or townhouse would be good so we don't have to worry about the yard. (Since my husband will be very busy with med-school) and I will be busy being a mom and will probably be expecting again soon. Anyway, any areas or communities that you could tell me about good or bad would be appreciated. Thanks! Oh yeah. We are pretty poor with me not working and my husband in school. We are lucky to have a little family help and some savings but we can only afford about 150,000 (thats our top price) thanks again-

There is a small place called Burbank Arizona...very quaint small town...Ideal for your situation.

Do you need to immediately purchase? I would recommend renting for a little while so you can learn the areas and what the market is like. I lived in Glendale in 2006, Bell Rd & 79th. It is a really nice area the homes are very expensive though. I moved from Michigan so I understand what you mean about dirt yards. The apartment I lived in was fully sodded and they watered all the time, which I thought was just obserd it was 110 degrees. Arizona is having water issues and they are not allowing alot of homes to have sod unless your really rich. The real estate market has dropped, but when I lived there you couldn't find a good home for that price. Good luck
