How would I pursue a career taking in rescued/found wild animals in Phoenix, az?
I have thought long and hard about what id enjoy doing everyday as a career, and it would be to take in/rehabilitate wild animals. I live in phx az. I am 26 and a high school graduate, very little college, but back home in san diego we met lady who took in small mamals like opossums and skunks, worked from home, and got paid somehow thru the state Im guessing, she wasnt rich, but thats not my goal, its to do something I enjoy and believe in, and be able to make an okay living. I dont think she had college exp. She just had to have the space and permits. Who in the phoenix/glendale area should I contact to do work like this?

About rents apt from employer

rents apt from employer?
My friend works for a small company in glendale,az. She also is renting an attached apt. for her son and herself. Her employer took it upon himself to start subtracting rent weekly from her paycheck and giving her the remainder. Economy being what it is at the moment , she was laid off on friday and when she finally recieved her check, her money was sutracted again. With no pay check in site. Is that legal for an employer to do in Arizona, without asking her?

Answer 1 :
Sounds like she allowed it to happen, so she won't be able to prove she didn't allow it. Employers can make all kinds of deductions with permission of the employee, court order, or by contracts through the employer verbal or otherwise. If she doesn't have any documentation that she complained that he was taking the money out of her check for rent, then his taking it out for all that time is all the proof he needs to say she ok'd it.
Answer 2 :
You don't say where your friend discussed it with him and told him to stop. If she let this go on while she had a job, she can't complain now that she's been laid off. As far as it being deducted from her check, unless he was taking arbitrary amounts out each week, she would have had to pay him that money anyway. It seems the simplest way was to deduct the money anyway. I mean, if every week I owed you 20 bucks, and at the same time you owed me 5, why would I give you twenty just to have you break it and give me five back

There is a website where people post odd jobs and things they need done for $5, and you get $4 for each one completed, put on a paypal account. I haven't used it, but it looks pretty cool, you may want to look at it- even if it's just for giggles. Things like answers to simple questions, looking up stuff, writing a poem for someone's girlfriend... It's called fiverr.com I'm not one of these spammers by the way, just heard about it and thought you may want to use it.

About Sending a PRAYER REQUEST, possibly a CALL TO ACTION

Sending a PRAYER REQUEST, possibly a CALL TO ACTION?
SENDING A PRAYER REQUEST for the health of Young Young (Yes, that's her real name, her first name is Young (Korean) and she married a guy whose last name is Young) who was shot in Glendale AZ last month. She worked at Fashion HQ on Glendale Ave. She is a wonderful Godly lady. She wasn't really working so she could survive, but so that she could serve breakfast to all her fellow church members every Sunday morning. She felt is was part of the way for her to share of herself, her talent, her time, her love, all to Glorify his name. Never once have I heard her take credit, she just did it quietly, for him, not for any credit of any sort or not as "works". Just a way to share love and joy. If any of you choose to, you can also call Elaine M. Scruggs, the Mayor of Glendale AZ and ask that this case continue to be followed up on and that the city do what is necessary to get this into a "We Tip" or "Silent Witness" type program. At the very least they should be added to the "Glendale's Most Wanted" list. City Office: (623) 930-2260 City Fax: (623) 937-2764 E-mail: mayorscruggs@glendaleaz.com Letters: City of Glendale, 5850 W. Glendale Ave., Glendale, AZ 85301 There is good video on the perps from the store camera and from Peter Piper Pizza Parlor next door. Most of us have free long distance on our cell phones and email costs nothing more than a few minutes if you choose to. The Detective's name is Det. Droban. Let's make sure he has all the tools he needs to catch the guys who hurt this wonderful lady.

To answer your question, I'll say that I like the cheddar.
Answer 2 :
Are you kidding? You want us to pray that the case isn't closed? Wow.
Answer 3 :
See, I don't get this. A perfect example of a god-fearing and devout member of the faithful ... and your god arranges for her to get shot. You don't specify but did she die? What kind of god is this? Maybe you believe in the 'divine plan' thing and, if you do, what is the point of anything - it's just going to happen anyway? What is the point of prayer of your god has already planned out every moment of everyone? Just let it go. It's clearly what you god wanted? Do you really think that, by praying, you can change god's plan? Mmmm. Not if god exists and certainly not if your god doesn't exist. On the other hand, by dumping religion and all and any gods entirely, everything falls into place. Everything just makes sense. Try it. Reality works. Sorry to hear about your friend but you would have a better task ahead of you working to amend your gun laws than bleating about god and praying for results that are not going to happen.
Answer 4 :
I have prayed and will do so for Young. I know that it seams God's plan is not working but we don't Know what God knows. Some times it is better to leave things in God's hands as He will bring about Justice. Note if any one recognizes these people then they should by all means contact the police but trying to escalate the case may be more of a detriment than an aid.
Answer 5 :
I will be sure to pray and write. Thank you for posting this. I use to live in Glendale. That is where I accepted Jesus.
Answer 6 :
I have just prayed for this young woman! We need more people like her in this world!
Answer 7 :
I will pray for Young Young also.

About We might be moving to Glendale AZ for med-school. Where is a good area to live

We might be moving to Glendale AZ for med-school. Where is a good area to live?
My husband and I are going to look for housing in a few weeks and I was hoping someone could give me some direction. We are a young couple (25) and have a 2 year old son. We are from Utah so we are looking forward to get out of the cold but I was scared when I saw the dirt-yards online. We would love to have our own house, it would be our first but maybe a condo or townhouse would be good so we don't have to worry about the yard. (Since my husband will be very busy with med-school) and I will be busy being a mom and will probably be expecting again soon. Anyway, any areas or communities that you could tell me about good or bad would be appreciated. Thanks! Oh yeah. We are pretty poor with me not working and my husband in school. We are lucky to have a little family help and some savings but we can only afford about 150,000 (thats our top price) thanks again-

There is a small place called Burbank Arizona...very quaint small town...Ideal for your situation.
Answer 2 :
Do you need to immediately purchase? I would recommend renting for a little while so you can learn the areas and what the market is like. I lived in Glendale in 2006, Bell Rd & 79th. It is a really nice area the homes are very expensive though. I moved from Michigan so I understand what you mean about dirt yards. The apartment I lived in was fully sodded and they watered all the time, which I thought was just obserd it was 110 degrees. Arizona is having water issues and they are not allowing alot of homes to have sod unless your really rich. The real estate market has dropped, but when I lived there you couldn't find a good home for that price. Good luck

My parents would be willing to sign waivers and permits. Live in the Glendale area

Answer 1 :
sweat shop
Answer 2 :
It doesn't matter if they are willing to sign anything. Finding a job is not going to be easy. There are over 2.5 million people out of work at the present time. You have to get out there now and see what is available. This is not going to happen overnight. Jobs are going to people who have skills, experience and are available to work any hours. So start going in person to find a job. Employers will not think to much of people calling on the phone to see if they are hiring. Only file an application on line, if the company requests it.
Answer 3 :
Go to City Hall and get your work permit. Then apply at any job you want. You can not work during school hours or overnight. Golf courses will hire you if you can work weekends (no young people like to work when their friends are playing

About What do you think of the city of Glendale, AZ giving over $200 million in subsidies to a private investor

What do you think of the city of Glendale, AZ giving over $200 million in subsidies to a private investor...?
... so he can keep a hockey team local? See if you can follow this... The Phoenix Coyotes (NHL franchise) moved to Phoenix in 1996, from their former home in Winnipeg, Canada. They moved to the Phoenix suburb of Glendale and the Jobing.com arena in 2003. The team has never made a profit since moving to the desert and has consistently had some of the lowest attendance and TV ratings in the league. In 2009, the team declared BANKRUPTCY and Research In Motion CFO James Balsillie bid $220 million for the franchise with an intent to move to Hamilton, Canada. The NHL and the City Of Glendale fought against this, for different reasons. The judge accepted their argument and the NHL was forced to buy the team. Fast forward to today, nearly two years after the bankruptcy. The NHL still owns the team and is desperate to unload it. If a deal cannot be worked out with a local owner, the league has a deal worked out with Thomson&Reuters chairman David Thomson to move the team back to its original home in Winnipeg, Canada. The NHL and the City of Glendale have one hope to keep the team local: Chicago businessman Matthew Hulsizer (Peak6 Investments). The NHL needs to recover all their costs from the purchase and thus the sale price of the team is set at around $170 million. To entice Hulsizer to purchase the team, the City Of Glendale has offered $100 million up front that will go towards buying "parking rights" that nobody is quite sure who owns. Regardless, the $100 million will go straight into Mr. Hulsizer's pockets. The money will be risen by bonds. The city will then give Mr. Hulsizer $18 million/year to "manage" the arena for the next 5 years, this despite the fact that the city can hire a top firm in the country for an estimated $5 million. Your opinion? Should the City of Glendale be giving nearly TWO HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS to a PRIVATE INVESTOR so he can purchase a SPORTS TEAM? I should add that if the team leaves, the Jobing.com arena will be left without a major tenant.
